Museum is a non-formal educational institutions can provide a lot of learning for humans. Museum is a means of studying and learning without taking the role of teacher. The existence of the museum is able to answer questions that arise in the learning process, especially with regard to the history of human development, geology, culture and environment. However, there are some problems that often hamper the achievement of the function of the museum one of which is a collection that has not been interactive demonstration. Demonstration collection of interactive yet is one of the factors the lack of learning experiences gained by the visitors. Learning that takes place in the museum is generally only involve the realm of hearing, seeing, or seeing and hearing. One way to help overcome these problems is to develop applications of Virtual Museum of Indonesia (VMI) web-based. Opportunities provided by VMI applications are interactive learning games such as simulation of learning that can take place anytime, anywhere even in schools as formal educational institutions. The case studies in this study is the Geology Museum in Bandung. In this research, process development, through testing simulation games as a learning medium. Learning to be conveyed, namely the determination of the age of the fossil with student competencies that are the focus of research is the students' motivation in learning. The design includes the design of a prototype game simulation game simulation and design of learning content. Design implementation process is done using tools Copperlicht engine, 3D editor Coppercube and PHP. Furthermore, the testing process is done through sampling as many as 35 people from SMAN 12 Bandung. The research instrument used was a pretest, posttest, questionnaires, observations and interviews. The results showed that the simulation game of the determination of the age of fossil built in applications VMI is best used as a medium of learning not just in school but outside of school, anywhere and anytime on the condition there is a computer and an internet connection and a simulation game on the application VMI designed to learning fossil age determination qualify learning the material. This is evidenced by the opinion of teachers and students of the two. The data processing pretest, posttest showed that the determination of the age of fossil simulation games can improve students' motivation in both student learning achievement group middle to upper and lower groups. With increasing student motivation is assumed that student achievement increases even without the guidance of the class teacher.
